In their latest global collaboration with Montblanc, Edinas Paper (previously featured here) once again showcases the poetry of paper craftsmanship. For the Travel Heritage campaign, the Budapest-based studio designed and produced over 400 handcrafted window displays, each one celebrating the Maison’s legacy of travel, writing, and timeless design.
Rooted in Montblanc’s rich history, the Travel Heritage project revisits the brand’s earliest marketing moments—from the iconic 1920s Montblanc cars adorned with oversized fountain pens to the romantic promise of “a letter written aboard a moving train.” These nostalgic images became the foundation of a campaign that, as Edinas Paper beautifully puts it, “celebrates the journey of the written word—across land, air, and imagination.”

A Journey Told in Paper
Edinas Paper’s creative concept centres on one evocative idea: the journey of a letter. Each of the 400 window displays features a paper-crafted vehicle — a car, train, or airplane —carrying a letter through a miniature world. These stories unfold against the backdrop of a reimagined Montblanc Haus, built entirely from paper. The result is a poetic tableau that captures motion, emotion, and heritage through intricate material storytelling. “This wasn’t just about window design; it was about storytelling through materials,” the team at Edinas Paper explains. “Every curve, fold, and shadow was carefully considered to evoke emotion, heritage, and movement.”

The Material Language of Luxury
To bring their vision to life, Edinas Paper selected a rich range of premium and sustainable papers, chosen for their aesthetic character, tactile appeal, and harmony with Montblanc’s timeless brand world.
Among the key materials were Color STYLE Smooth 300 g/m2, a solid-coloured natural board with a charming, rough surface that gives structure and depth to every fold; Remake in 250 g/m2, a warm brown-toned paper made from 25% recycled leather fibres, adding a distinctive haptic and visual texture; and Sumo in 1 mm, a dense, premium board celebrated for its stability and beautifully solid-coloured cut edge. Complementing these were Crush 250 g/m2, Glam Gold 250 g/m2, IQ Color Ivory 120 g/m2, Mirror 300 g/m2, Pergraphica Infinite Black 250 g/m2, and Munken Pure in 120, 240 and 300 g/m2, as well as Munken Polar in 300 g/m2 — each carefully selected to contribute subtle variations in tone, surface, and reflectivity. Together, these materials formed a palette that brought warmth, contrast, and dimension to the miniature worlds, allowing light and shadow to play across the handcrafted details.
Scale, Precision, and Passion
Bringing such an ambitious vision to life required more than creativity. It demanded precision and extraordinary teamwork. Every window was handcrafted in Edinas Paper’s studio, down to the smallest rivet on a miniature car wheel or the swirl of paper letters trailing through the air. To ensure consistency across hundreds of global locations, the studio developed a custom logistics workflow covering quality control, packaging, and labelling — each handled with the same care as the creative work itself.
The project also exemplified seamless collaboration between Montblanc’s Brand Experience Team, StudioXag, and Edinas Paper, uniting concept, design, and execution into one fluid creative process. From designers and illustrators to paper engineers and logistics experts, every hand involved contributed to what has become one of Edinas Paper’s most technically and artistically ambitious projects to date.
