Few things hold a special place in the hearts of all paper lovers during the holiday season, like the tradition of sending and receiving holiday and Christmas cards. It is without a doubt one of our favorite seasonal customs and a true highlight of the year, allowing us to admire and experience an incredible variety of creative, beautifully crafted paper and print designs. With probably billions of holiday cards exchanged around the world each season, this tradition is familiar to many. Yet this year, we feel that this small yet meaningful gesture of remembering loved ones is more important than ever to stay connected in a world marked by constant change and uncertainty.
With this year’s holiday greeting card, our idea was to create a design that brings a message of peace and joy to the recipients and which invites them to an atmosphere of calm, in which the Christmas spirit can be shared and felt wholeheartedly.
Throughout the year it is so easy to loose focus of the things that matter and clutter our mind and our soul with tasks which seem daunting and of critical importance in the moment, but in the overall picture, are just some specs on the horizon. This is why we believe in the importance of our Holiday Message. With it we wish to send calmness in the recipient of our card, so that they may once again, find joy among the people and the activities which truly give colour to their life.
The paper choice for this message was Koehler Eco Dust, 350 g/m2 (previously featured here), which creates a canvas filled with attributes such as warm, grounding, and calming. It also stands for safety, security, and well-being. The main message of the card “PEACE & JOY” was realized in hot foil stamping, building a bridge to the magic which is Christmas and the warm, radiant light which surrounds this special time of the year. This glittery feeling of calm is further transported by the envelope colour Glam Champagne (previously featured here).
