Vilnius based Godspeed Branding received a unique task when asked to create an identity for the new district of Paupys in the capital city of Lithuania. A rare opportunity met by designers, as the situation of a new city district forming is not so common. The assignment was to find inspiration from the location itself, a unique area close to both to the city center and the green, woodsy part of the city.
Nature and harmony
Inspired by the location, the harmony of city and nature, the final identity is a cohesive collection of detailed stationery and infographics in a muted color palette of emerald green, soft white, and craft board brown.

The main logo is created using a reflection because the Paupys district is located by the river. The chosen typography correspond to the sharpness and rigor of the city corners, yet their textures and patterns stand for the fluidity and truthfulness of nature. On both paper products as well as on actual stationery items, a variety of tactile textures is used to mimic the sensation of touching sand, soil, and wood. Also, a series of illustrations showcasing doors symbolize the line that the city dweller crosses when moving away from the city, suddenly find himself in nature.
