Interactive PEJSKOVÉ Children’s Book Entertains The Young And Old Alike

„PEJSKOVÉ“ (“Dogs” in English), is a new interactive children’s book full of cheerful stories to entertain children and their parents alike, who love dogs or wish to learn more about them. The book is written by Daniela Zbytovská, a member of the Czechian creative group MALÉ(h)RY, who’ve published children’s books before to much success. Brno-based animator, illustrator and director Dita Stuchlíková is responsible for the adorable illustration of the book, while Tereza Šmídová from Studio Soudva did the graphic design, and POP – PAP publishing house published the title. The book was created especially for those who wish to learn, by being someone else, that being yourself is already a gift – and how we all have our worries, whether we are a child, an adult, a dog, or a tree.

Besides the wonderful stories and illustrations, what makes PEJSKOVÉ extra special is the unexpected additions inside, like the massive three-page spread coloring-illustration for the children to enjoy, the dog special that tells you information about the dog breeds that you definitely didn’t know before, and even an animated illustration “Transformation” that you can see by flipping through the pages.

Handmade covers made of recycled cardboard include die-cut illustrations that the children can play with, while the book includes numerous interactive aspects for the young and old alike to enjoy

The book’s unique hard covers are handmade with recycled cardboard and includes die-cut illustrations of dogs that children can take out and play with. The paper core was offset printed by Printing House Didot on PERGRAPHICA® NATURAL ROUGH paper distributed by Europapier, which was a favorite from MALÉ(h)RY‘s earlier children’s book projects, for its high quality and optimal characteristics for printing colorful illustrations. A higher weight was chosen for greater book resistance – as, after all, it needs to endure the handling of enthusiastic children.
