Minimalist Omela Restaurant Branding Draws Inspiration From A Celestial Plant Rooted In Ancient Legends

Independent Graphic Designer and Art Director Veronika Levitskaya is known for her creative work that draws inspiration from styles based on geometry, form, and colors, such as Memphis, Bauhaus, or Constructivism. Now the designer has joined forces with another creative duo, Marina Kondratenko and Anna Kabanina, who together run the Moscow Mule, a design studio coming from Moscow but operating internationally. All three designers are skillful in turning ideas into unique brand experiences that bring value to both the client and the customer while offering a fresh perspective by pushing creative boundaries.

The unique logo encapsulates the grace and essence of the Omela plant, which then served as the foundation for the interior objects such as this elegant lamp.

A collaborative effort results in a beautiful identity concept, centering around a logo that encapsulates the grace and essence of the Omela plant

“Our journey began when the client introduced us to the brand name “Omela” – a celestial plant known to flourish on trees. Rooted in ancient legends, this plant symbolizes rebirth and fervor for life itself.” The designer’s core challenge laid in the development of an identity system woven around this concept. The outcome of their collaborative process was a beautiful logo that encapsulates the grace and essence of the Omela plant while preserving its inherent fluidity. Beyond the logo, we conceived a minimalist yet versatile illustration system. This system serves as a visual reflection of the plant’s romanticized allure. Within these illustrations lies the embodiment of the Omela flower, which not only captures its radiance but also symbolizes the profound connection between the restaurant’s founding sisters.”

The Omela illustrations utilized in the concept were created using Cinema 4D. “This approach not only ensured their compatibility with print processes but also facilitated their seamless integration into animations.” These unique illustrations served as the foundation for the creation of volumetric interior objects, which were collaboratively designed and crafted with Fork Produktion. Examples include an elegant restaurant-front lamp and a meticulously designed 3D-printed check/bill box. Follow both Levitskaya and the Mosco Mule studio on Instagram for more inspiration.
