Noti Furniture Catalogue Is Not Only A Feast For The Eyes But To The Touch As Well

Bękarty is a creative studio located in the center of Poznań, Poland, specializing in designing books, catalogs, and newspapers. Creating visual posters for festivals, exhibitions, and individual companies, Bękarty designs for both commercial and institutional clients. One of their local clients, Noti, a brand of furniture produced in Poland, tasked the studio to create an image catalog covering all their most important furniture collections.

Light and soft with modern elegance and functionality, the design of the catalogue follows the brand’s aesthetics

Furniture brand Noti has been part of the Polish furniture market for almost two decades. 16 years of responsive design, but above all a family history. Since 2005, the founder of the company Ryszard Balcerkiewicz has consistently implemented his principle of “design first” by creating furniture with a timeless, simple, elegant form, focusing on its functionality, comfort, and durability. The new collection catalogues were created to celebrate this idealogy.

Ryszard Balcerkiewicz has consistently implemented his principle of “design first ” by creating furniture with a timeless, simple, elegant form, focusing on its functionality, comfort, and durability. The new collection catalogues were created to celebrate this idealogy.

“The aim was to design an image catalogue covering all of the most important Noti collections. The catalogue highlights the designers who, despite the differences in the number of collections included, each have equal rights”, Bękarty writes. “We distributed them evenly, not assigning them to collections. On the cards with their description, we added the names of the collection with links to pages”.

Each detail, from high-quality paper choices to thread bindings and protective packaging, helps create an experience not just for the eyes, but to touch as well

Raw materials have always been an important part of the Noti furniture products, with designers opting for high-quality fabrics and materials. “We wanted to obtain the effect of a certain roughness on the cover without using linen, so we used cotton-based Cuturon x-treme 170 gsm paper. While at the same time the form of the catalog was to be user-friendly”.The catalogues, which come with three different softcover versions are bind with thread, allowing for the pages to be fully opened and the photos to be enjoyed in their full capacity. The offset UV printed catalogues are wrapped in blotting paper and packaged in a raw cardboard box for protection during shipping. Showing how much effort and thought was put into each detail.

“We wanted the catalogue to be pleasant to the touch and the cover to be durable. We wanted to refer to the fabrics that are used in the production of Noti furniture. Pergraphica Natural Rough 120 gsm was used for the interior pages to harmonize the photos and add a pleasant touch, while IQ Color – at the end of the catalog – was chosen to create the impression of a technical, additional part”, Bękarty sums up.
