Looking for a last minute Halloween costume? Sounds familiar. Somehow Halloween managed to creep up on me (hehe, pun intended) this year. Well, it happens almost every year, and every year I end up franticly looking for a costume on the last minute. Then end up pulling together something that’s obviously an after thought, and get green with envy for others amazing costumes. But this year, Wintercroft printable DIY masks totally saved me. Every paper lovers must-go costume!
Last night I was looking around the wonderful world-wide-web for some inspiration with my go-to search cue of the week: halloween + paper + costume. And what popped up? The answer to my troubles! The Wintercroft paper masks are designed by Steve and Marianne Wintercroft, and the idea is that you simply buy the printable DIY pattern and instructions and then build the mask yourself. With a few bucks you can have your pick on anything from a lion to a panda bear or full-head dinosaur get-up to half-face fox mask. The designs are polygon style, with folded angles, and in my opinion, look absolutely rad! What do you think?
And if you’re like me and not the biggest fan of grown-up dress-up, this is the perfect choice for you! You get to wear what ever you want, but still blow everyone way with you cool look – especially after they hear you made it yourself! And here comes the best part: it’s fully made of paper! (I got mine at Europapier)
Head over to www.wintercroft.com and have your pick. Your Halloween costume is one click (and a few hours of crafting) away. Don’t be alarmed by the lenghty instructions, they are there to help. Mine took about 2.5h to finish but I took my time and made sure to double tape everything, I woudln’t want to wreck the mask too soon would I.
All you need is a printer, the paper of your choosing (make sure how many A4’s the mask you chose needs) and some tape. Oh, and some nerves, I would call the degree of difficulty of this DIY: mediocre to hard.
