Hungarian design brand DOT For YOU designs and manufactures one-of-a-kind paper stationery: planners, notebooks, copybooks, and more, for the joy of paper and notebook lovers everywhere. Founded in 2015 by Erika Baglyas, a successful contemporary artist, the brand has since grown its team with design theoretician and production manager Kitti Mayer, communication practitioner Barbara Németh and design graphic artist László Szörényi.
Working in close collaboration with local creative workshops and printing houses, DOT for YOU is known for its unique and stylish designs which often experiment with traditional bookbinding techniques and printing possibilities. Always aiming to utilize and showcase the brilliance of quality handicraft and premium raw material, DOT for YOU represents Hungarian design at its best.
DOT for YOU limited editions are produced with local labor force and ecological and sustainable values at the heart
The DOT for YOU products are made in the brand’s own design manufacture in limited editions, guaranteeing premium quality. Manufacturing is done in community funding, as DOT for YOU believe that human communities have the power to create value. The manufacturing of their latest IRKA agenda is done with the local labor force while using local resources. The small manufactory also undertakes customized orders from companies, projects, investors, and shops, and has produced numerous unique designs for clients including the National Gallery Shop in Budapest, Design Terminal Budapest, and Glamour Magazine among many.

With one eye always on the future, and strong ecological values at heart, all DOT for YOU notebooks are made of FSC-certified paper, as the wood used to make the paper is from controlled forestry: no rainforest is cut down to produce it and it is not coming from environmental exploitation. The manufacturing process of the paper is elemental chlorine-free. This procedure prevents toxic and carcinogen dioxin emissions. A manufacturing technology considered the “best accessible technology” in the EU.
Founder and designer Erika Baglyas holds honesty and direct communication at the core of the brand’s values, stating that DOT for You is not solely a business but a love project. Always in contact with their customers, listening to views and ideas, DOT for YOU is building a community while teaching people to love analog technology again. “We believe in the power of the human community and that doing things, for example, paper goods, simple objects carefully makes people’s lives better“, Baglyas says.

Each product is designed in-house, utilizing unique printing techniques and high-quality papers
Every one of DOT for YOU’s stylish products is designed in-house and is a labor of love and devotion. Many notebooks and products have the classic hot foil stamping on the cover, as Erika Baglyas explains: “It’s a brilliant but difficult procedure because the meeting of material and technique not always works very well. BUT it is a good way to find new ways, so that’s why, we experiment a lot, looking for the boundaries of technology and matter, so we find solutions that are out of the ordinary.“
DOT for YOU regularly uses papers from Europapier, for example, Munken, Pergraphica, Color Style Smooth for manufacturing the notebooks, agendas, weekly planners, postcards, posters, etc. Premium Pergraphica® classic smooth uncoated paper 100 gsm – exclusively available at Europapier – was used for the popular BUDAPEST FIRKA notebook, as well as all of the DOT for YOU notebook collections in the past year. Having tested many papers, Pergraphica proved to work well for bullet journaling, or writing, sketching with fountain pen and ink, making it a perfect choice for a multi-use notebook.
