Little People, Big Dreams – Marie Curie Illustrated by Frau Isa

Some girls dream of being princesses, but some of becoming astronauts, scientists or presidents. Young girls need role models in every area of achievement so that they too can be encouraged to make the most of their opportunities. Little People, BIG DREAMS, a 13-part book series by Spanish children’s author Isabel Sanchez Vegara tells the stories of remarkable women throughout history, from Rosa Parks and Agatha Christie to Marie Curie, the first female to win the esteemed Nobel Prize. Each book chronicles the basic biography of a talented woman, illustrated by a female artist, making them adored by children and adults alike.

Viennese creative Frau Isa (previously) is a tremendously talented illustrator with a unique style appreciated by many who works on projects across mediums, as well as a small creative agency Wald & Schwert together with her husband. A fitting choice of illustrator for Little People, Big Dreams edition on Marie Curie. Isa’s muted color palette and vintage-inspired, nostalgia exuding approach give a real sense of Marie Curie’s life. With limited text, great emphasis is left to the visuals which more certainly carry that load with grace.
