Marina Lewandowska Reminds Us Of The Simple, But Important Things In Our Lives

Marina Lewandowska, a Polish-born graphic designer who is now based in Vienna, creates visual identities, editorial design, posters, and illustrations for both commercial clients as well as personal projects. Lewandowska’s style is bold and colorful, which often utilizes strong graphic elements. Her style feels to be influenced by her earlier art school studies before she transitioned from sculpture and printmaking to graphic design.

Simple Things poster series reminds us all of the simple yet important things in life

Lewandowska’s series of posters talking about the most simple but important things in our lives, simply titled Simple Things, feels very fitting in our current times. Created before the global pandemic, the series gives inspiration and aspiration we should all keep in mind in the current climate.

The series is built with rudimentary flatform in a strong color palette, following the designer’s recognizable approach to her graphic practice stems from a long-standing interest “in creating abstract shapes and a relation between them,” as she explains here. The series includes posters with suggestions such as “smile”, “sweet dream”, and “relax” combined with illustrations that are skillfully reduced minimal forms and shapes.
