The digital era brings many advantages and upgrades to our lives from communications to how we see and enjoy the things that bring us joy. It threatens some things to the prink of extinctions but also makes us value others to the point of obsession. Music has always been a loved art form and since the first records produced it has come with a visual canvas, the album cover. Weather LP record sleeves or hard CD covers, each artist has had the opportunity to package their art in a form free to them. The history of album covers is wide and variable, with everyone remembering the classics and of course those cherished first ones we got our hands on.
To continue this craft, Prague based freelance graphic designer Petr Kudláček created a cool, illustrated, multi-colored LP cover and packaging for Násilník. Unique hand drawn illustrations on both the actual record as well as the booklet in fun black, pink and yellow color combo, with a neon green honey-comb soft envelope as the cover – this album is no wall-flower! The custom made typography, high-contrast colors and surprising material choices give a clue of what’s coming , the perfect way a good album design does.
