A series of eight paper illustrations of the most popular summer cocktails of the season by Get it Studio
The project Pause Apéro is a series of fun paper illustrations of summer cocktails for the newspaper Le Temps, commissioned by the photo editor of the Swiss daily newspaper last summer. The paper creations were part of the realization of an editorial titled Pause Apéro, Happy Hour in English. The objective was to create eight images that present the most popular cocktails of the moment.
Each image is an explosion of color that elegantly reminds us of the long, warm summer days and its refreshing breaks.
The series showcases recipes for summer cocktails, including some of our editorial team favorites, a spritz, and a daiquiri, and other various tasty drinks, by constructing hand-made decorations entirely out of paper. “After listing all the ingredients needed to create each cocktail, we armed ourselves with scissors, tubes of glue, and patience to create the elements necessary for our compositions. Each image is an explosion of color that elegantly reminds us of the long, warm summer days and its refreshing breaks,” the creative team behind the project explains.
The meticulously created paper designs were first sketched out by hand, then redefined digitally before being transformed into a cutting template. Build by hand and used as part of thoughtful and harmonious compositions that feature the drink in question and the parts that go into it’s making, made of paper. Watch the making-of below. The eight pages of the summer series Pause Apéro won the European Newspaper Award in the category “Innovation print”.
