The aim of the Look – Touch – Feel creative box is to evoke curiosity, joy, and passion for traditional print production, design papers, and printing art – and at the same time, satisfy the idea of sustainability.

The high quality in design and printing of both the box and content were fundamental in creating an inspiring education tool with exceptional design. The cards carry much useful information appreciated by designers, graphic artists as well as people in marketing. And as the need for inspiration can never be fulfilled, more cards can be later added to the collection.

Designed by Malina Studio and printed by DIW Print, both experts in working with high-quality & eco-friendly design papers and printing techniques

The visual concept and design of the Look – Touch – Feel creative box was done by Bratislava-based Malina Studio (whose work we’ve featured before here). The studio has previous experience working with papers from Design Collection by Europapier – most often for packaging design of coffee and beauty products – giving them a great understanding and approach for the project. Malina’s minimalistic approach to design, which allows the product to stand out with an impactful visual appearance, always lets the paper speak.

The print production of the creative box was realized by Slovak progressive digital printing house DIW print with a high level of professionality and environmental awareness. While the typeface used in the packaging is Cosan by Andrej Dieneš.

The Look – Touch – Feel box showcases how to match the right design papers with suitable printing techniques, with a focus on eco-friendliness and sustainability

The Look – Touch – Feel box is made of Refit Wool Blue 360 gsm (paper made from 15% cotton or wool scraps) that is provocative with its look as well as with its haptic. This is just the right paper for the packaging that is designed to inspire. Various papers were chosen for cards inside this box according to the printing technique, as not all papers are suitable for example metallic foils.

In the sense of the Look – Touch – Feel idea, papers with rough haptics or visually catching structure were used – Kaffee Papier/Coffee Paper (recycled paper with 5% coffee residues and 95% recycled fiber), SH Recycling Grass (100% recycled paper with 30% sun-dried grass), and Crush (15% of the pulp is replaced by agricultural waste products). Most of the papers used, and all mentioned above are exclusively available from Europapier‘s eco papers range.

Various printing and finishing techniques were used from eco-friendly embossing to metallic foils and sand-touch varnish.

The creative box presents a generous range of digital printing techniques with various digital finishings. You can see above, and on the right, the examples of the picture of glass with silky&mat laminated foil and sand-touch varnish, leaf with silky&mat laminated and drops with embossed partial gloss varnish, a volcano with metallic foil, “Thank you” cards with 3D blind emboss, the artwork of Guttenberg with embossed partial black varnish and metallic foil printing used on color paper – just to name a few. And of course, eco-friendly embossing was used to emphasize the idea and aim of Look – Touch – Feel.
