TypeType Branding by Comence Studio

Comence is a branding and design studio from Saint Petersburg, Russia, who specializes in brand strategy, identity, packaging, web, and mobile design. They were approached by TypeType Foundry, a market leader in font production, with a task to develop a new brand identity. What Comence created is a reflection of the brand’s perfectionism, clear vision, and ability to combine beauty with functionality, in a stylish, contemporary concept.

The white rectangular block with sharp edges and flawlessly printed logotype defines the range which includes brand stationery made of high-quality materials, immaculate printing techniques with clean, fresh design. The simple logotype is a metaphor for TypeType’s well-coordinated and continuous work process: day by day, letter by letter, type by type, while the minimal color scheme is directly inspired by and taken from the work process: white for paper, black for fonts, gray for the tones of font rendering, and beige for manual labor. TypeType combines algorithms and accuracy with beauty and functionality. Comence translated these features into a striking brand stationery.
