Graz, Austria-based STUDIO FURORE creates brand experiences that evoke enthusiasm, sensation, and furor. Focusing on corporate design, branding, fashion, concept, and campaign design, as well as photography, FURORE brings ideas to life, that’ll drum up noise and interest from audiences and markets. For Schulhaus Tirol FURORE came up with a concept that simultaneously honors tradition and offers unconventional experiences. Bridging the brand’s history with the customer’s contemporary needs, an intriguingly surprising design was born that surprises with its vigor and authenticity.
Authenticity and dedication to high standards are what stand out from the rest
Known as the cradle of mountaineering, Zillertal Valley in Tirol boasts some of the most breathtaking views in Austria, attracting millions of visitors worldwide each year. It is also home to the Geisler family, the proud owners of the renowned guesthouse and restaurant Schulhaus. With a reputation in the area for its creative interpretation of Tyrolean cuisine, Schulhaus’s motto “traditionally good, surprisingly different” encapsulates its commitment to not only being custodians of the region’s idiosyncratic farming techniques and cuisine but delivering an experience that embraces tradition but isn’t stifled by it.
Wanting to reflect the authenticity and character of Schulhaus, this motto became the heart of its newly refreshed visual identity by FURORE. Schulhaus’s reputation as a welcoming and trustworthy place provided the stable ground on which creativity flourished, and a cohesively contemporary identity concept was built.
Online, the guests are greeted with a design that includes conscious and selective use of animation, to not overwhelm, but to intrigue, while the created print materials continue the tactile sensory interaction between guests and Schulhaus with the letterpress printing on most of the produced items.
The concept that unites heritage with modernity, through tactile sensory interaction is anything but ordinary
In establishing fresh, eye-popping colors with stylized typography and interesting high-quality imagery, the designers embrace the challenge of uniting heritage and modernity as the main pillars of the design concept – proving that the experience of Schulhaus is anything but ordinary. Online, the guests are greeted with a design that includes conscious and selective use of animation, to not overwhelm, but to intrigue, while the created print materials continue the tactile sensory interaction between guests and Schulhaus with the letterpress printing on most of the produced items. “Knowing one’s roots, the power of tradition provides a basis of cohesion, whilst the vision of the Geisler family offers well-dosed moments of wonder. Traditionally good. Surprisingly different. A motto that benefits a house remaining and thriving by being true to itself, regardless of the noise”, the STUDIO FURORE sums up.
