TypoThursday × 3D Typography

UK-based creative Lex Wilson made a series of incredible typography designs which play on the illustration of typography, 3D art, and a lot of perspectives. He uses the viewer’s perspective to create optical illusions of type that seem to pop in and out of the page. Check out the designs and a-w-e-s-o-m-e videos where you can really see the 3D effect in action.

Lex Wilson has the talent to see things differently, especially when it comes to typography. He creates some of the most interesting and mind-boggling pieces we’ve seen in a while, and his work hasn’t gone unnoticed by any type fanatic or industry professional. His unique style always makes his work interesting, and us wanting for more. And it rarely disappoints.

What’s even cooler is that he illustrates these words by using stairs to give it the appearance of movement and height. There’s even a piece called ‘Life: a series of ups and downs’, cleverly going up and down with its various steps and ledges. make sure to watch some of the videos below, so you see exactly what I mean!

We can’t help but wonder, how on earth does he do it?
